In 1950s Mexico City, an American immigrant in his late forties lives as a loner in a small American community. However, the arrival of a new student encourages the man to finally make a meaningful connection with someone. Ultimately, it was Daniel Craig who convinced Luca Guadagnino to cast Drew Starkey after he watched the audition tapes with Guadagnino and told him "That's the guy" upon seeing Starkey’s… William Lee: Sit on Your Ass! The main reason is that the film was too abstract and felt like a stream of consciousness. The overall meaning is to explore the loneliness of a strange heart, the difficulty of connecting with others, the pain of not being able to love, and the complex emotions of depression. But the performance technique is very stream of consciousness, especially the last 20 minutes, which have almost no lines and are used entirely to express the inner world of the male character through various blurs, hallucinations, and abstract art forms. Although I understood what the director wanted to convey, the form of expression may not be acceptable to society, and I wanted to leave the stage at one point.
