At 50, Julian, divorced and struggling with money, uses an app to share a car and drive around Madrid. He falls in love with Lorena, a common carpooler, and his problems begin when two strangers join him on a trip. Filmed at the Hotel Marqués de Riscal. Featuring « The Last Year in Marienbad » (1961). Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra. A good idea, not original, but not that bad either. The film starts well, but then it descends from one unreal situation to the next. Predictable and mostly boring. Those who have seen « The Day of the Beast » by the same director will be very disappointed. It is not funny at all. The situations are unrealistic, but not in the funny, instantly classic way of the previously mentioned film. On the contrary, everything is predictable and the gags go on endlessly, without any kind of planning. The lack of preparation and care of this product is so obvious. If you want to see a Spanish film with a common car story, try Dime dónde viajas. It’s not a very good film, but at least the story is more exciting and the main character more interesting. There is also a bit of mystery and some references to songs and Spanish pop culture. In this product, on the other hand, you won’t find any of that, bed scenes, love scenes, action scenes are mediocre. I give it a 5 because it’s worth watching, but the 1 hour and 35 minutes seem to last forever, only an hour is enough to tell this story that goes nowhere.
