Lily Trevino, who often acts as a caretaker for those like her father who should be looking out for her, yearns for the bonds of family after being abandoned by her mother as a child and then by her father in her twenties. Bob Trevino works long hours alone at a construction company to support his scrapbooking wife, Jeanie. The couple has been through a lot over the past decade, and Bob has struggled to put his wife first, to the point of ignoring his own feelings and need for friendship, meaning, and connection—until he unexpectedly receives a Facebook message from the stranger. Lily and Bob’s budding friendship becomes a powerful source of connection and healing in their lives.
